Overview

The Director of Digital Sales Strategy will be responsible for digital media initiatives, including content production and distribution as it pertains to revenue generation. Responsibilities will include driving digital revenue growth from local and national digital platforms. The position will require creativity, collaboration, engaged leadership, iterative product development, and thoughtful partnership/distribution strategies. This person will be a builder who possesses an overarching revenue-driving mindset that will result in both short- and long-term coordination and sustainability of Learfield’s growing national digital base.

Responsibilities

• Develop digital and social media strategies and business objectives for Learfield properties, inclusive of web, mobile, social, content and live digital experiences.
• Manage deployment of digital and social strategies in collaboration with local/school-property, regional and national sellers.
• Work closely with digital operations, interactive producers, marketing teams, sponsorship salespeople, social media teams and content creators.
• Design and oversee the implementation of sales growth strategies through organic and paid marketing, email marketing, CRM, SEO, etc.
• Establish KPIs and evaluate and interpret performance metrics to ensure direct correlation between resource allocation and business outcomes.
• Manage a team of digital media strategists assigned regionally to generate revenue for Learfield sales.
• Work with sales and digital operations teams to identify and understand sponsor/brand goals and objectives and brainstorm solutions that leverage digital/social assets, current inventory, and new opportunities.
• Work with sales and operations teams to create sellable digital assets and determine packaging and pricing for offerings.
• Digital visionary! keep abreast of the latest digital and social marketing information, trends and opportunities and communicate sales opportunities back to the team.
• Collaborate with the expanded digital team to create new client-focused solutions
• Sell integrated platforms that include display signage, TV, radio, print and digital combined into one themed platform.
• Grow Learfield’s multiple digital platforms across the entirety of the company’s collegiate rights holdings portfolio.
• Meet or exceed established goals set yearly for new and existing digital business. 
• Refining and selling Learfield’s digital offerings for sponsor clients, collegiate partners, and engaged fans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (Marketing/Business preferred)
• 7+ years’ experience in digital/social media sales and marketing roles
• Visionary digital strategist with highly-attuned commercial instincts and business development skills who has formulated creative and effective approaches in the development of new digital products and content to meet current and anticipated future client need
• Strong expertise with all major social platforms relevant
• Understanding of performance advertising strategies and platforms and tools required for execution across all platforms
• Proven history of managing large initiatives with tight deadlines
• Sell integrated sponsorship packages and programs that include display signage, TV, radio, print and digital
• Exceptional communication skills
• Proficient computer skills including all major software, including cloud-based solutions 
• Track record of collaboration and evangelism with a history of working together with peer executives in sales, marketing, business development, technology, and production, to achieve revenue and profit growth for the organization.
• History of creating and monetizing sustainable core and non-core media assets
• Experience and interest in the collegiate sports marketplace is a plus.
• Ability to communicate with technologists, sellers, and business partners and translate complex technology concepts to a variety of audiences.
• Managing obstacles - reacting to and overcoming problems or objections.
• Travel to partner sites when needed.
